Home staging or "house doctoring" is a marketing technique of presenting a home in its best light in order to appeal to the broadest audience, with the ultimate aim of achieving a fast sale at the highest price possible.
Home staging has been practiced in the US for the last 20 years and is still a new concept in the UK. It was first introduced here 9 years ago with the Channel 5 TV programme "House doctor" presented by Ann Maurice and also "Selling Houses" by Andrew Winter on Channel 4. The popularity of home staging is growing and more and more houses in the UK are staged.
